ABRA Software
Challenge
ABRA Software keeps up with technological developments on the market, so its software falls into the category of cloud applications. But even that wasn’t enough. The company needed a partner that would allow it to run custom applications in the environment of Kubernetes clusters. However, the existing infrastructure provider didn’t have this option.
So the search began for a new partner that would ensure even greater adaptability of the infrastructure. One of the candidates was Microsoft Azure. Its pricing seemed friendly at first glance, but a second look revealed that ABRA would pay a premium for Kubernetes.
In addition to the clusters themselves, it was extremely important for the developers to find a company that would be available to solve problems and whose support would always be there for them. The Cloud Provider met both of these conditions.
Solution
The TCPRO team actively collaborated with the developers at ABRA Software to ensure that the infrastructure and clusters fully met their requirements. The key was that individual applications would run in individual clusters that enabled the necessary technologies and versions to be provided for each. However, this could not be at the expense of reasonable costs.
The hardest part of the transition was the change in philosophy that the ABRA team had to get used to. Kubernetes is a technology that, like any other, has its own logic and a way of working. So it wasn’t just about migrating applications, but also changing the approach to managing and configuring the infrastructure.
Result
All of ABRA Software’s requirements were met thanks to the collaboration with TCPRO. Moreover, the developers have high expectations regarding the improved efficiency resulting from this step.
And the customers? They weren’t supposed to feel the change at all, but they did. The goal was to protect them from the negative consequences of the migration, but to ensure better efficiency in the operation of their applications.
