Vertix
IT professionals solved the outsourcing challenge with the cloud
For more than 10 years, Vertix has been taking care of the IT needs of companies from the private and public sectors. It delivers tailor-made solutions for data centers both in terms of hardware and software, and its team takes care of their smooth operation.
Challenge
This approach ultimately led Vertix to TCPRO. One of the customers needed corporate infrastructure but the parameters contained two key constraints
- No purchase of physical infrastructure
- Dynamic adaptation of infrastructure to customer requirements
So it was clear that Vertix would have to reach for a cloud solution. As technical matadors, they already had experience with VMware, Hyper-V and AWS environment. In order to establish a partnership in this case, however, they used the Czech IT pond, in which, of course, The Cloud Provider also operates. Although the name does not suggest it, it is a purely Czech provider.
In addition to the possibility of using the environment itself, other aspects also played a role, including a friendly pricing policy, personal approach and adaptability. Although large providers such as AWS and Azure also got into the decision-making process, their non-transparent pricing policy, complicated terms and low speed of handling requests disqualified them.
“TCPRO became our partner in the provision of cloud services thanks to an individual approach and a clear pricing policy.
Don’t be afraid to switch to the hybrid data center mode. Once you define the services that can be transferred to the cloud, you can save on costs and cover performance peaks.”

And it was these disqualifying parameters that were decisive in favor of the CLOUDPOINT service. The IaaS option gave Vertix the opportunity to provide rapidly growing customers with a dynamically adapting IT infrastructure, which also frees them from the obligations arising from on-premise solutions, and they are also sure that the data remain in the Czech Republic and the prices will never surprise them. One of the reasons is, for example, the zero fee for data transfer, which still appears on the invoices of the big players.
Therefore, Vertix customers can use both a pure cloud environment and a hybrid one. Critical systems can remain with the customer, but other activities can effectively be moved to the cloud, so there is no need to make additional investments.
Bottom line, Vertix chose a partner who
- has an individual personal approach at all times
- uses a clear pricing policy without items such as data transfer fees
- allows dynamic changes in the environment
- provides a fully customizable service
Simply put, a great one. Vertix can now offer its start-up and corporate customers a solution that is purely Czech and fully adaptable to the client’s requirements.
Although there were obstacles in the transition, as the team had to familiarize themselves with the OpenStack environment and understand its logic, which is different from the technologies that the technicians were familiar with, they can now benefit from an environment that allows simple project creation and definition of computing resources, dynamic work with resources and also a transparent pricing policy that does not have to deal with licensing (OpenStack is not subject to licenses).
Despite some initial configuration problems, CLOUDPOINT has become the go-to environment for Vertix and TCPRO the go-to partner which it will expand cooperation with.
And what are the real benefits of all these changes?
- The customer saved CZK 1.5 million on investments and does not have to worry that the need for another investment will suddenly appear. The cloud dynamically covers the development of this company.
- Vertix no longer has to spend as much time on strategic planning in the field of physical infrastructure thanks to covering many needs with cloud technology.
- Customers praise the dynamic options of the environment, the quick response and also the complete freedom from the need to have equipment under their own management.
