Comrico focuses on the production of chicked specialties. To make the preparation of reports and fulfilment of HACCP conditions easier, it was looking for an automated temperature monitoring that would achieve this goal. The aim was to minimize the ratio of manual data reading, increase the quality of the produced delicacies and arrive at the optimal tenderness and juiciness of the final products thanks to the clear and real-time available data.
Comrico employees were used to manually read the temperature values in the freezers, combi ovens and thermal chambers every hour. This approach was time consuming and it did not enable the immediate reaction to the changes in temperature and it also didn’t cover the risk of inaccuracies when creating the HACCP audit reports.
Additional reason to look for a better solutionm was the need to get a timely notification about power outages; therefore, c hanges in temperature during storage and production. Last but not least, the goal was also to automate the temperature check during meat preparation in combi ovens and thermal changes because the right temperatures and times are crucial for the final quality of the produced delicacies.
First, what our DASHPOINT team did, was to introduce the technology options that were then discussed with the customer. The combination of precise measuring, easy of operation and automated outputs for HACCP reports were the key factors that influenced the final technology recommendation.
We have integrated temprerature probes that monitor the temperature of the processed meat throughout the whole production and storage processes. Notifications for any changes is sent to the customer via email and text.

We have selected the open protocol Modbus for communiation through the RS-485 interface to guarantee the problem-free data transmission to the main unit. For sensor interconnection, we have selected wire transfer because it fit the needs of the customer more and in many regards this type of transmission has higher quality.
The selected sensors are certified in accordance with the CSN EN ISO/IEC 17025. The biggest obstacle during installation was not to interfere with the production. The solutions has been installed in one day during regular production of all lines – including the full configuration of data vizualization and system tests.
Data are being processed and evaluated in the TCPRO high-power cloud where the DASHPOINT service runs. The customer accesses the cloud solution via an Internet connection and has an immediate overview of the state regardless of where he is or what time of day it is.
The customer has real-time overview over temperaturers in freezing boxes. The system monitors times and temperatures during meat processing and in case there are any fluctuations, staff is immediatelly informed. This means the production cycle is not prolonged which has a positive impact on the final product quality.
Outside of time savings and higher work efficiency thanks to the automated reading and temperature checks, there has been a significant decrease in the time necessary for the preparation fo the HACCP audits. DASHPOINT outputs are fully adapted to the requirements of the certification authority. Comrico has, therefore, audits without any errors and the tčeam is ready for the audit in a frasction of the time that used to be necesssary for the preparation of the reports.
