Open Future
The future of modern companies lies in open technologies. The virtual data center is built on them – OpenStack and Kubernetes are the foundation – but it also follows a zero vendor lock-in approach and an open mind of the engineers who design the company’s IT architecture.
Fitting Invoices
Efficient IT architecture is recognized by a clear invoice. The virtual data centre is always characterized by clearly defined costs in advance, transparent and simple billing and NOT charging for data transfers. No asterisks or footnotes and no suprises due to highly volatile cost items.
Infinite Simplicity
The virtual data centre makes complete management of corporate IT available online. Any optimization of computing resources is simply done in one email, without having to limit the company’s operations or the work of the technicians. The increase has no limits.
Home Environment
Neither the infrastructure nor the data are spread across different locations in the virtual data centre. Everything remains in the Czech Republic in a local data center, helping companies meet the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the NIS2 directive.

FAQ
What other names match youur service?
We have chosen the name virtual data centre (VDC), but the choices would be, for example, cloud platform, virtual private cloud, infrastructure as a service or private virtual data centre. The most accurate, however, is a private solution on a shared infrastructure.
There are some differences between these types of services, which is why we went the VDC route. The important thing is that the result is not some pre-configured server that is limiting in its settings, but a set of computing resources that allow each company to get exactly the environment it needs.
I want to know more about the technical side of your solution.
Our virtual data center is built on 20+ OpenStack components combined with Kubernetes. We chose CEPH to provide storage.
From a user perspective, the Horizon dashboard is important, providing all the control of the virtual environment, including graphical topography of all networks.
NVMe disks, which are not part of the storage provided to users, are exactly what we used. At the same time, we have two types of processors in the servers, 2.4GHz and 3.0GHz, which make it much easier to run legacy systems and programs with very specific computing needs in the cloud.
How does it compare to a virtual private server?
PARAMETER | Virtual Private Server | Virtual Data Center |
RESOURCES | One virtual machine with a given configuration of vCPU, vRAM and vHDD/vSSD/vNVMe | Allocated vCPU, vRAM and vHDD/vSSD/vNVMe with the flexibility to build any number of servers from these resources |
OPERATING SYSTEM | Bound to a virtual machine | Whenever you build a server with any OS |
PRIVATE NETWORKING | Does not allow linking of individual servers using private scopes | SDN; Network environment fully under your control |
NETWORK SECURITY | Defined and controlled by the provider | Full control over network traffic and security rules. |
FLEXIBILITY | An additional virtual machine must be purchased to change the configuration or OS | Any configuration and OS and the possibility to order any number of resources with one email |
TRAFFIC | Payments associated with each virtual server | Payments tied to resources, not specific servers |
What needs can a virtual data center cover?
- Recovery of IT infrastructure regardless of how the original architecture is addressed (physical, virtual, multicloud, hybrid)
- Dynamic computing power requirements
- Digitalization of business processes
- Company expansion
- Elimination of CAPEX IT investments
- Optimization of IT operation and management costs
- Eliminate operational IT costs for cooling, security, maintenance, revision and service
- Remove vendor lock-in
- Providing on-premise applications as a cloud service
- Extending the multicloud environment with another provider
- Disaster recovery site
- Need a virtual environment with more virtual servers
- Consolidation of IT infrastructure
- Ensuring complete IT
We provide an app on customers' premises. Can you help us to the cloud?
Of course. Our environment is ready to run applications that were originally provided on-premise.
Moving from an on-premise application to SaaS is a matter of a lengthy and costly process. But SaaS is not the only approach to turn an on-premise application into a cloud service. Our engineers will do a functional and operational analysis and find the best approach to make the application work as a service.
At the same time, we also have all the tools for our customers to get started with pure SaaS development, even from scratch.
How do you charge for the service?
Within the virtual data center, we make available the number of virtual processors, operating memories and disks (which can be HDD, SSD or NVMe). One IP address is free of charge. We do not charge extra for anything else, such as data transfers or network topography.
In addition, a flat-rate or Pay-as-You-Go payment is available, depending on the customer’s needs. Payments are made on a monthly basis.
Do you have an exit strategy?
Yes, our company has clearly defined terms and conditions that define how you can migrate your data and architecture if you leave the cloud platform.
What if we are bount by MS licenses?
This is not necessarily a barrier. Together, we’ll take a look at how your IT works and help you secure the necessary licenses, if needed.
What service availability do you guarantee (SLA)?
The price includes a 99.5% SLA for the cloud platform. It is of course possible to pay for a higher level.
How does VDC compare to AWS, Azure or GCP?
A virtual data centre differs only in the way it is provided. While global players provide companies with microservices that the company puts together, in CLOUDPOINT the company receives a complete environment with computing resources that no longer need to be put together. Moreover, with us your data will not leave the Czech Republic and the advantage is also a lower price.
We'd like information about the data center where VDC is located.
The virtual data centre is operated from a data centre in Prague, which meets TIER III standards. If you would like more information on the technical side, please contact us personally.
